Writing a mystery is not the same as writing historical fiction, but I loved the challenge. I was fortunate to find a local police department detective willing to read my drafts (multiple) and make changes to improve the work. I am hoping we can collaborate on new works in the future. It was a big shift for me, but I enjoyed the heck out of the process!
